What is the task?
Appen is running a speech collection program. They are kicking off a large-scale speech collection project to help their client build the next generation of artificial intelligence powered by interactive voice response (IVR) systems in the customer service area. The end goal is to allow machines to interact and respond to customers with their queries. In order for them to complete the task, they are collecting speech samples of general conversations people would have over phone calls for research and machine training purposes.
Who they are looking for?
Native Speakers of either German (Germany) or English (England) to participate in the project. (Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales) will be the next phase so I will keep you updated.
How to apply?
All you have to do is fill in this Expression of Interest Form. You will be sent the project to complete. You will receive $50 upon completion.
What will you be asked to do?
You will use the Appen Recording Platform to complete 4 phone calls with another person on topics such as family and friends, World News, finances etc. Each phone call is for 15 minutes.
Your conversation has to as natural as possible and it has to be completed in a quiet environment. Each participant can complete the task only once. All recordings will be verified by the quality assurance team for speaker nativeness and speech quality.
Upon completion and verification, Appen will pay you US$50 into your PayPal or Payoneer account.
I personally completed it with my husband in the other room of the same house so its easy money.
