Procrastination is a dream and success killer and I struggle with it very badly. However, I acknowledged that I had a problem and decided to make a change. I have listed key tips to break the cycle and be the best version of ourselves and achieve a lot more in life. Achievement breeds fulfillment; so if you are looking to start a blog or lose weight or even become a better parent, apply the tips below and you will see a drastic change in your life.PROCRASTINATING TIPS

TOP TIP : MAKE A LIST ( IF YOU HATE LISTS THEN SCRIBBLE IT DOWN)

Write a list the night before so you have a clear outline on what you want to achieve. Research has shown that writing a list the night before can even help you fall asleep quicker. Here is a free printable template. Keep it simple and prioritise your list so you can get started in the morning.

TOP TIP : JUST START

Sit there and focus on getting started. Not doing the whole task, just starting.

Identify the most important thing you have to do today. Decide to do just a little bit. JUST START. Just the first 30 seconds which may lead to a minute. Getting started is the only thing that matters. At least you started and you will be surprised by the amount of things you get done by applying this principle. I managed to write and publish the blog post with this mindset.

TOP TIP: MOTIVATION IS NOT A FEELING, IT’S A MINDSET. KILL THE MYTH

Motivation is not a feeling its a mindset. – I believe we have grown up believing the myth that motivation is a feeling. You always hear the saying ‘i don’t FEEL motivated’.

Motivation is a mindset, a choice. When we accept that we have to choose daily, half the battle is won.

TOP TIP : FOCUS ON ONE THING AT A TIME

Focusing on one item at a time eases the pressure and reduces the chances of being overwhelmed. Gather up diversions and distractions. Turn everything off. Close all projects. There should simply be you, and your task. Pay attention to your mind,  as it has inclinations to change to another task. You will have the desires to browse email or Facebook or Twitter or your most loved site; and for me it is currently Instagram.

NOTICE THESE DESIRES BUT DO NOT MOVE. Sit still and let them pass. Urges will develop whenever we focus but they will pass, similar to a wave,  Let every one pass.

Now just take one small action to get started. As tiny a step as possible.

Get started, and the rest will flow.
